                  True Stories of Valor

The 9th Indiana constantly strives to present a clear and accurate picture of the lives and struggles faced by the original veterans in their campaigns during the
Civil War.

To accomplish this unit members actively engage in historical research and detective work to discover exactly what life in 1861 was like, especially for the men of the 9th Indiana and their families at home.

Currently Unit member Brian Roeske is involved in writing a comprehensive work on the 9th Indiana and intends to seek publication. Brian has spent many long man hours researching the lives of the men of the original ninth and their experiences during the War.
